I have been lucky to be able to go to many professional games and sports venues. Here are the top five venues that I have visited (in no particular order)

1. Johan Cruijff Arena: This is the home of world-famous Dutch soccer team Ajax. I was able to tour this stadium while in Holland. The stadium is huge and very nice in terms of the design and features that it has. It has a very modern design with a roof that is retractable. The tour I went on was very informative as I learned a lot about the stadium and the history of the club

2. Fenway Park: Home to my favorite baseball team, the Boston Red Sox, Fenway is one of the oldest ballparks in America and a must see. Its well-known features such as the Green Monster and Pesky’s pole make it really something. Fenway is also very cool because it is more of a ballpark rather than a large stadium like many teams have.

3. Signal Iduna Park: This stadium is the home of German soccer team Dortmund. It has many cool features such as seating called “The wall” which is a huge section where all the passionate fans sit and cheer during the game.

4. TD Garden: Home to both the Boston Celtics and Boston Bruins, TD Garden is a great venue to catch a sporting event in Boston. For Celtics games, the garden is known for its parquet floor, giving it the look of the classic Boston Garden. TD Garden is filled with the Bruins and Celtics history. When you are there you can see the 17 championship banners belonging to the Celtics, and the six belonging to the Bruins as well as all of the retired numbers for both teams

5. Maracanã Stadium: This is a soccer stadium in Brazil home to Fluminense FC. The reason why this was one of my favorite was more because of the atmosphere than the stadium itself. The stadium was full of supporters who canted and played drums very loudly for all 90 minutes of the game. The stadium itself was very nice though and I would certainly recommend seeing a game at it if you are in Rio.

Stay tuned for future posts regarding my experiences on trips involving these stadiums!
